Frustrations and Apprehensions About Leaving and 2 Weeks Notice

Sometimes it’s human nature to cling to a known devil than trust an unknown angel. The same goes for leaving an old job.  We are constantly worrying if the new job will be

all that we hoped for and if we would find acceptance and recognition in the new place. There is no right answer to this. All we need to do is take a leap of faith.

Why You Need to Give 2 Weeks Notice!

As a professional, giving your two weeks’ notice is absolutely crucial! Because you’re not a magician – you’re not Chris Angel, who can just disappear. It is a basic professional courtesy. As a team player, making everyone aware of your last day and leaving a paper trail allows us to finish up tasks/tie up any loose ends and leave our legacy. Always maintain a warm relationship with previous teams after leaving the company. Maintain connections!

A smart professional only leaves the job, not the relationships.

Besides, they can be references for any future job opportunities. Many companies require 2 weeks’ notice in order to get saved-up vacation pay or other benefits. Some companies may require that employees payback their signing bonus if they don’t give a 2 weeks notice. In case there is a future situation of returning to the previous company, we don’t want to burn bridges! Leave a positive impression on the company and set an example for others!
