What Happens When You Don’t Align

Failing to find yourself in sync within a company on a personal level is a great reason to quote NSYNC and say BYE, BYE, BYE! You’d be a real fool to let the stress of work that doesn’t excite you poison other aspects of your life. A lot of people take out the frustrations of soul-sucking work on themselves and others through unhealthy habits and behaviors—a bad job can make a good person go rotten to be around.

The product of working towards goals that don’t resonate with you can manifest as a lack of social support since you’ve become such a bummer and the eventual burnout  will decrease your already low productivity.

It’s  a matter of time until you get fired from a job you worked hard to get that you never really wanted, and none of your friends want to listen to THAT story.

Finding joy in in your work isn’t impossible if you work for and with people that have a common goal.

Providing a product or service to groups of people that you can identify with or just wish to help will raise your spirits every day you clock in and out.

The paycheck is just the more affordable icing on your cake. Have you ever ate a piece of cake and all you can taste is how much you hate your job? Let’s keep that bad taste out of your mouth. Move on to our last lesson of Week 4 to find out HOW to determine your values.
