Week 6: Developing Your Fandom REMOTELY

Setting Up 100+ Meetings

Video Time: 5 Minutes                Action Time: Around 1-3 Hours

Hey everyone! It’s time for “Setting up 100+ Meetings.” But first, have you connected with people from your target companies? If you didn’t do it, please go back to the previous episode, watch it again and do the ACTION! Remember, no one knows you until they meet you. You might be thinking, “OMG, I can’t do this!” We have a simple quick fix for that mindset. Networking is about building relationships. Those employees at that target company might be behind a screen, but they’re people too!

It’s like a giant cyber party that you just can’t miss!

Talking to strangers on the Internet might be weird initially, but this isn’t the early 2000s. It’s quite normal and socially acceptable now.  Even your parents would approve. Just remember to add the part about how your goal is to get a job. Once you connect with your new contacts and set up meetings, you’ll realize nothing will get in your way. When you are really in the game, you have the attitude of “I AM DOING THIS! It’s a challenge, and I’m the one to get it done.” Which is EXACTLY what employers want to see. You might have several reasons to be afraid of reaching out to business professionals on LinkedIn, but that’s all part of the journey to landing your dream job.

When people find out how unique and exciting you are, they will be excited to meet you. Networking is about building relationships, so get out there and get to know them—all 100+ of them!
