Research the average pay for that position in your area and the average pay by that company on sites like Glassdoor. Take some time to also determine what it is that you need or want out of an employment package.
2Stay positive, polite, and professional during negotiations!
Make sure you keep the tone conversational and ask any other informational questions you have as well.

If you are asked what your expected salary is, instead of giving them a number, say something along the lines of “I will consider any reasonable offer”. Make them provide you with the first salary offer. You may come in with a lower number than anticipated paying you and cut yourself short on salary, otherwise.
