Now that you have targeted where you want to work, start sending requests to anyone within those companies.

The Connection Request Formula:

1 Tell them why you want to connect (“I loved the article you wrote about benefits and how they affect the workplace”).

Give them a call to action. (“Please connect with me today!”).

Setting Up the Meeting:

1 This is where people get the most scared, reaching out to meet people. If this is something you struggle with, read this article to learn how to address those fears!
2 It’s as simple as sending out a connection request message: a Why and a Call to Action.

HERE’S AN EXAMPLE:

“Hi Stacy, I saw your LinkedIn and I’m really impressed with your background and would love to learn more about your time at Amazon. Let’s meet this week for a cup of coffee, what flavor do you like?”

DON’T EVER ASK YES OR NO QUESTIONS!

Instead, ask open-ended questions so you are engaging them in a conversation. Yes or no questions are considered “stopping” dialogue questions.
