What’s that Spell? Google!

Why did imaginary cheerleaders pop in your head and cheer G-O-O-G-L-E, you might ask? Well, Google is exactly where we are going to start on today’s episode. Google is a wonderful tool to research any company and find out if their views and values align with yours. If you search your dream company in Google, not only will their main page

pop up but there will also be reviews from employees, reviews from customers, news stories about the company, more information about what it is like to work there, and so much more! Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social sites are other great resources to check out when researching your dream company’s values.

Align Your Values

From here, you can determine if your values align with your dream company. If they don’t, then hard pass on that company. Throw them out like old leftovers! I know it may seem difficult leaving a company behind, especially if it is your dream company, but we promise that this step is necessary and rewarding. Think of it like breaking up with that toxic partner. You love them and you want it to work out but the reality is that they are just dragging

you down. You deserve to be in a rewarding relationship that builds you up and doesn’t tear you down, whether that be with a partner or with a company. The break up is hard, you eat some ice cream, watch a sad movie or two and then BAM! you realize that you are SO much better off without them! Am I right ladies and gents? So find that company (or partner) that loves you for you!

1 The About Us section of your dream company’s website.

2 Google (of course!). Type in the name of the company, and then mission statement.
Ex: Amazon mission statement
