And IIIIIIIIEEEEIIIII will always… love youuuuuuuuuuu!
Before we start, remember that no one knows you until they meet you!
Seems counter intuitive, doesn’t it?
Maybe, but this is such an important truth to understand, especially during this stage where you are putting yourself out there.
No matter what has happened to you in the past, mistakes you have made, tough life situations you have encountered, or insecurities that you may have about yourself; these people don’t know those things! Show them your confidence and that you are worth their time.
1Dress appropriately.
Just because it is a business meetup doesn’t necessarily mean you have to wear a suit and tie. Dress for the environment or position. If it’s an accounting position that you ultimately want, formal attire may be suitable. Whereas, if you are looking to work at a skateboard shop then you are better off dressing casually.

2Don’t immediately ask for the job.
This would be like walking into a bar and asking someone to marry you! Odds are it’s not going to happen unless that person is either crazy or desperate. So a word of advice for your love life… don’t ask random people to marry you! It won’t end well! Let us know if you have any stories to disprove that theory though…
3Let your interaction with the person include conversation topics besides work! Probe into their hobbies and interests. Ask them questions and find a common ground between the two of you so you can get to know each other on a more personal level.
4If you like them, invite them to coffee or to do something else that you have bonded over. If you don’t, think of it as a one night stand!
5After the meeting, make sure to follow up and thank them for taking the time to meet with you.
The question that I’m sure we have all googled, asked our friends, and thought about for hours… how to get a second, third, and fourth date.
How!?
I’m going to give it to you right from the beginning. Our advice for you is not going to be to buy a tub of ice cream, sit on your couch and watch 27 dresses or the Notebook. Sorry!
We know that can be fun every once in a while but our fix requires time, hard work, and dedication. But don’t worry, we are all in this together!
P.S. Don’t feel like you can’t take a little breather to eat some ice cream and watch your favorite chick flick every once in a while! Invite us and we will be right over!
