Week 7: Setting Up the "First Date"

Video Time: 7  Minutes          Action Time: 1-3 Hours

All strong relationships have reciprocity and mutual benefit at their core. By agreeing to meet with you, your connection has decided to take time out of their busy schedule to share knowledge with you.

Here are a few tips on how to show your appreciation and keep them coming back.

1Offer them any talents or skills that you may have. We’re not suggesting you offer to work for their company for free, but to work for them on a personal level. You want to invest in them as a person, and not just as an asset!

Here’s an Example:

If you are a content writer, offer to help them with their personal blog. Do you make jewelry as a hobby? Offer to create a piece of jewelry for an upcoming event they are attending!

2Always end with your why and call to action. We’re not suggesting you offer to work for their company for free, but to work for them on a personal level. You want to invest in them as a person, and not just as an asset!

3Leverage your assets to further your relationship. We’re not suggesting you offer to work for their company for free, but to work for them on a personal level. You want to invest in them as a person, and not just as an asset!
